1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MedMatch (“the Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Nature of the Service

MedMatch is an informational matching platform. We connect patients with clinical trials for which they may be eligible. We are not a medical provider, clinical trial sponsor, or healthcare institution. Nothing on this Platform constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or have parental/guardian consent) to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

4. Patient Accounts

  • The Platform is free for patients. We do not charge participants for access to trial matching or enrollment support.
  • Matching results are generated automatically based on the health information you provide. Clinical eligibility is ultimately determined by the trial site and its medical team.
  • Enrolling in a clinical trial is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw from any trial at any time, subject to the trial's own withdrawal procedures.

5. Doctor and Organization Accounts

Doctors and organizations must be invited via a valid invite code. By registering, they confirm that they are licensed professionals operating in accordance with Greek and EU regulations governing medical research. Misuse of the Platform (e.g., falsifying credentials) will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to competent authorities.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading health or identity information.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Use the Platform to transmit spam, malware, or harmful content.
  • Reverse-engineer or scrape the Platform without written permission.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and technology on this Platform are the property of Clinical Trials Match or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that trial matching results will be error-free or that a particular trial will accept your enrollment. Always consult a qualified physician before making medical decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedMatch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or participation in any clinical trial.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Greek law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
